Travel Abroad

Our nurses will be happy to discuss your vaccination requirements and arrange a schedule for your vaccinations. You should let us know at least 6 weeks prior to your departure so that we have sufficient time to arrange your schedule as in many cases multiple doses are required. There is a questionnaire that we will ask you to complete before any discussions can take place.

If you are travelling off the beaten track’ or to an area with complex vaccination requirements, we may recommend that you seek guidance from a specialist travel clinic. In these cases we will let you know when we receive the completed questionnaire.

You should be aware that not all travel vaccinations are available free on the NHS. Our nurses will discuss any costs with you when agreeing your schedule. A leaflet giving details of our current charges is available from reception.

School Leavers Booster Vaccination

This is normally given at school but if this is missed for any reason then please let us know and our practice nurses should be able to arrange for it to be given at the surgery.

Children’s Immunisations

Please make an appointment for the weekly clinic.

Bowel Cancer Screening

To detect cases of bowel cancer sooner, the NHS offers two types of bowel cancer screening to adults registered with a GP in England:

  • All men and women aged 60-74 are invited to carry out a faecal occult blood (FOB) test. Every two years, they’re sent a home test kit, which is used to collect a stool sample. If you’re 75 or over, you can ask for this test by calling the freephone helpline on 0800 707 60 60.
